When I was a child, my musician father worked at a music store in Burbank, Calif. One night, he brought home an orphaned LP without a sleeve: Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto in G Major. No sooner had he given it to me when I put it on the record player and turned the knob to Start. The music—complex, lush, even cinematic—won over my childish imagination. My fascination of and love for Beethoven’s music has lived with me ever since.
I had invested years in researching Beethoven’s biographies and his music, as well as walking in his footsteps in Austria. Beethoven has inspired so much good in my life. Through My Interview with Beethoven, I write to pay the inspiration forward to my readers.
